Act 1: A little Bit of Magic
"Magic can be found in this world, if you know where to look for it."
The scene opens on the beautiful New York countryside, as the sun starts to set over the horizon for another night. The moon had started to rise once again, casting it's warm unearthly glow over the countryside once again. A small town comes into view and we see an all to familiar sign that was seen by any that came into view. WELCOME to DUNWICH HELL. The camera moves past the old houses that lined the sides of the street. There were no lights that kept the warm glow, except for a few small streams of light that came from the small slats in the windows. The camera moves along the road, until we see the massive mansion that seemed to loom out of nowhere. The house was lit from top to bottom. The scene changes to the interior of the home, where we see the massive foyer and the strange looking fountain and the grand staircase. The camera moves up the staircase and into one of the rooms where we find Emily sitting in front of a black wrought iron vanity putting on the finishing touches on her makeup. She wore a dark blue long gown, with black lace running along the bottom of the dress. She gets up from where she sits and turns looking back at the mirror. The reflection just winks at her and smiles before she turns and walks out of the room, and down the stairs. She soon reaches the bottom of the stairs passing by the dinning room set up for a dinner for two. She smiles softly looking around for Seph. Emily looks toward one of the mirrors seeing her reflection.
Emily: Where is he?
Reflection: Where else would he be?
Emily: The graveyard...
Emily heads for the front door and heads out into the night. Her soft slippers let her feet the rocks underneath her feet, as she moved along the road toward the graveyard that could be seen from the road. She soon reaches the old wrought iron gates that were wide open. The gates sit half hanging from their moors as she peeks through the sea of old graves seeing his silhouette looking down standing before the large statue of a weeping angel which hangs over him. He stares down at a collection of graves a cluster that he has dwelt at before as she walks among the mausoleums. Slowly she approaches as each step clicks on the concrete. She watches him as she draws closer to to his solemn form that stood under the weeping angel.
Emily: I figured I would find you out here.
He kneels down at one particular grave. It's name and date roughly torn away as if clawed by some feral creature as he lays a rose down and rises slowly.
Seph: Forgive my absence. I was distracted by the past again. You know I suffered much in your absence, my love. Made many mistakes. Sometimes in my weakest moments they haunt me. This is where their ghosts dwell.
He softly says looking up at the graves his eyes not turning to meet hers. Emily walks closer to him and smiles softly.
Emily: I haven't seen you make any mistakes since I've been with you. You have helped me when I'm at my lowest, and you have done everything you can to make me feel like a queen. I have no clue what you've been through... Well most of it... All I know is that you love me, and I love you.
He chuckles slightly and smiles looking to her finally though briefly before looking back and sighing.
Seph: It took me a long time to learn what needed to be done. It took many to teach me such. What I have imparted to you is no more then experience given to me by those who dwell here. Have I ever told you the purpose of this place? Why I keep it so close to my home and heart?
He turns to her quizzically putting her on the spot. Emily shakes her head.
Emily: Not really. I mean I can imagine why you do.
Seph: And what does your imagination tell you?
Emily stares off for a moment.
Emily: (In her head.) It's where you keep all the bodies of those you killed?
She snaps from her thoughts and shakes her head.
Emily: It's a graveyard... People die and you need a place to put them.
He coyly smiles at her and turns his head to the graves
Seph: The dead need no home, beloved. They feel nothing. They do not suffer. If you put one body in a hole it matters no more then if you drop a thousand down a well. This place serves as all graveyards do. To honor those who came before. This place honors those who were our brethren. Those who swore themselves to me. Those who gave all to see the vision you gave me come to fruition. Some I failed and I have to live with that. But each one brought me to the place I am. They made me their King and that makes each one precious. Worthy of the honor. One day if you pass on you too will be brought here and laid to rest and odds are I will visit you here and wait until you return. That is my curse to always be the one still standing.
Emily looks down at the ground, and slowly follows behind him.
Emily: They chose to follow you and when they fell they were honored as much as one could do. Their names still live, and yet you live with their memory. That must be difficult. But if I have my way then I will live forever beside you.
He stops and looks back at her.
Seph: Do you mean that?
Emily: Yes. I've been learning about different ways to keep myself youthful, and forever at your side no matter what I have to do. I love you. And I will not leave you from now until forever.
He turns back looking forward his back turned coldly to her.
Seph: That is not what I meant. To be with me as you say means more then just living. It means taking your true place at my side. It means succeeding where all those who dwell here have failed. Where Joanne failed. Where only one could ever say she came closest.
Emily looks down and then back up at him with her blue eyes shimmering in the dim light of the stars over head.
Emily: I will stand at your side now and forever. I will not disappoint you or at least try not to or fail you. I am mortal and we are flawed... You are not.
He hangs his head and laughs to himself.
Seph: Would that that were the truth. You forget even I was mortal once. You see, my dear, a King needs a Queen. And a Queen must give more than herself. She must be first and last. Each one of our people is to her as her own child. From the lowest beggar to the greatest lord. Someone once told me that. Can you say that you could see them as the same? Could you stand with me to save the meekest of us? Could you be willing to sacrifice everything for not our family but the Darkness as a whole? Are you prepared to do every sin you swore never to do for me and our people?
Emily thinks about what he says, letting her gaze to out over the graveyard before turning back to him.
Emily: I've never been to good around others. I've always been a bit different. The others that I have seen or even come to know about I have to say that they are strange, but there is something about them that makes me remember things about them that I shouldn't know. But I will do everything and anything that I need to do to keep our people safe from the outside world.I will steal, I will kill, I will do whatever you need me to do.
Seph: Then the decision must has been made. And we maybe both twiced damned for it.
He turns to her finally holding a small black box in his hand as slowly he drops to one knee as she stands shocked. He opens the box revealing a small ring of platinum with black diamonds in the form of a rose sitting before her.
Seph: Emily Grant, will you be my Black Queen?
Emily stares down at him with wide eyes. In her head two figures could be seen looking at each other.
Tabitha: Why isn't she saying anything?
Rayne: I don't know. I think she's gone catatonic!
Tabitha: We have to make her say something! He's waiting for a response!
Rayne: Banana hammock!
Emily: BANANA HAMMOCK!
She looks down at Seph once again, and smiles as Tabitha shakes her head.
Tabitha: Not what I meant!
Rayne: I panicked!
Emily: Can you repeat that?
He looks at her quizzically then just smiles an angelic smile of amusement.
Seph: You know it's your ability to thrive under pressure that makes me love you so much. Will you, Emily Grant, be my wife and Queen?
Emily: Yes! A thousand times yes!
He smiles rising as he takes the ring out and places it on her hand gently fitting it perfectly in place before kissing her deeply before the weeping statue. Slowly he pulls from the kiss after a time and takes her hand.
Seph: Come now. I prepared you a fine dinner and I'm sure you've let it grow cold by now fretting with me out here.
Emily smiles softly resting her head on his shoulder but stops and looks up at him with a puzzled look on her face.
Emily: Does this mean I have to protect Sothren too?
Seph looks down at her and nods.
Seph: I'm afraid so.
Emily: Damn.
Seph: Its to late to say no now.
Emily sighs, as they start to head back toward the house, as the scene fades to black.
The scene reopens on the interior of the manor house. We see Emily sitting on the deep red velour chair, as she stared at the diamond ring that now sat on her hand. It shimmered in the light from the chandelier over head. Her eyes gleamed as the diamonds sparkled.
Emily: I still can't believe that I'm engaged. I never thought I would... It is so beautiful! I mean its perfect and so is he! I know that its only been a few months since that we've been together, but it seems like it's been so much longer. I have memories of when I was Tabitha and I have to admit I loved him then, and now there is just something more. I'm not sure what it is.
She smiles softly, as she leans back in the chair as the sound of dishes could be heard in the dinning room across the hallway.
Emily: I know you're all wondering how Seph and I got teamed together during this whole Lethal Lottery... It's simple... It was magic!
She laughs.
Emily: I'm kidding... I cheated! Well actually it was magic! That's the great part about being a witch! I made it happen and we ended up together! Just like it was meant to be. I know that our opponents didn't have that luxury. Johnny I don't really have anything against you. You are a friend of Necra and Ex's but I cannot fail him. You see I didn't even really want to be in this match but this feels so much different and now I have to make sure that we win this match. I know that you're going to give us a fight but we will come back at you and your partner with everything that we have.
Emily gets to her feet, as she walks to the fire place that was nothing more than an empty space and void of flame.
Emily: Rockin' Lunatic... What have you done since you were in the company? Nothing! I've held the Pinnacle Championship twice over, along with the Eternal Championship. Hell Seph was the Bloody Hardcore Champion in the end. But you have done nothing since you came in let alone impress anyone. I don't really see you and Reb actually getting along long enough to get through this match let alone stand against us. This should be an interesting match if nothing else. A former Champion and a nobody facing off against two former champions.
The sound of a bell is heard and she smiles as she turns and looks back at the dinning room.
Emily: Dinner must be ready. Well this is where I will say good luck to both of you... And see you soon.
She winks and walks out of the sitting room, as the scene fades to black.
