Act 1: A New Life
When other little girls wanted to be ballet dancers I kind of wanted to be a vampire.
Angelina Jolie
The scene opens on the beautiful Jersey Shore. The waves gently rolled against the shore, and the long boardwalk that stretched from one end of the beach to the other. The sun had started to set for another night, as the lights from the tall hotels and casino's were starting to come to life, with the soft glow from the neon lights. The smell of the sea water mixed with the smells from the local restaurants that lined the boardwalk drifted on the air for another evening. A few people walked along the boardwalk taking in the night air, and enjoying the freedom from the stay at home restrictions. The camera moves over the city and soon comes to a stop on one of the nicer parts of the city where the more wealthy people live. The camera moves over the vast estates and soon comes to a stop on an all to familiar home hidden behind the high red brick walls that protected those that lived inside. The camera moves up the long driveway and soon comes to a stop on the massive estate of the Jersey Devil Diva Joanne Canelli. The lights had started to appear in the windows as we see Joanne step out onto the balcony that over looked the grounds. There was something different about her... She was now a pale beauty. Her long hair draped down her back, as she stared out over the grounds. She smiles to herself as she hears the office door opens and we see Uh Oh standing in the doorway. Uh Oh smiles he has an apron on his hair slightly unruly as he is wiping his hands clean.
Uh Oh: Hello love how are you doing?
She turns and smiles as two small fangs are seen in her mouth. She moves back into her office as her eyes adjust quickly to the darkened room.
Joanne: I'm fine. Do I smell steak cookin'?
Uh Oh: Well cooking is all perspective, with your new found appetite I made as rare as I could where you wouldn't have to chase it down and kill it yourself.
Joanne: You're sweet. I have to admit when you brought them into the house I could smell it. It's strange you know... I can hear mice outside, and whispers in other parts of the house.
Uh Oh: I told Rude or Reno about the mice, not sure which one is which they are always together. One of them was going to shoot the mice. At least it wasn't Baalzebul or Katsa, not sure who is worse tank boy or dynamite girl.
Joanne: I'm thankful for that... At least it wasn't my brother. Don't get me started on the squirrels with him...
Uh Oh: I am still new to this diet of yours so I hope I did everything right I followed his directions he left.
Joanne smiles.
Joanne: I'm sure it's fine. You always make it perfect.
Uh Oh: I make it with love.
Joanne: I know you do.
Uh Oh: You'll need your strength you have a tough opponent ahead of you.
Joanne nods as she starts to head for her office door.
Joanne: Yeah I know. Frostbite has never been an easy opponent.
Uh Oh follows her.
Uh Oh: Any idea why he was out there during your last match?
Joanne: No clue... Maybe to make sure it would be me that he would face this time around.
Uh Oh: Do you want me at ringside to watch your back so no Thug Revolution interferes?
Joanne smirks.
Joanne: Between you and the guys it would help. I don't like surprises. Of course it's a bit harder to sneak up on me.
Uh Oh: True I try not to wake you when I get those late night calls from nature.
Joanne: I don't have to sleep as much now either... But I've learned that I have a weakness to silver... It's weird.
Uh Oh: Guess it is just gold, brass, and copper jewelry.
Joanne: Yeah I still can't figure out why. I mean all of us have somethin' we are weak against. I'm not to worried about Frostbite. It's his cronies that I'm worried about. They seem to put their noses where they don't belong.
Uh Oh: Haven't seen Fathi in awhile but they still have Mia, Brian Kennedy, Tyler Cross, Thayne Bell, and Enforcer lurking around
Joanne: Like I said cronies....
The two of them walk down the hallway and toward the kitchen as the smell of freshly cooked steak drifts into her senses stronger then before. Uh Oh pulls out her chair so she can sit. She sits on the bar stool at the island in the middle of the kitchen.
Joanne: That smells amazin'.
He pours her a glass of deep red liquid. She grabs a bottle of wine and mixes it into the dark liquid.
Joanne: He's right... It is easier mixin' it with the wine.
Uh Oh: I am glad to here that.
She leans back into the seat as she takes a sip from the glass in front of her as the doorbell rings. Joanne sighs.
Joanne: Damn it... I forgot I had an interview this evenin'...
Uh Oh: Shall I drug him and fry him up?
Joanne laughs.
Joanne: Neither... Besides it's Clinton... His heart is beatin' a mile a minute... And he's not worth to drink from.
Uh Oh sighs with relief.
Uh Oh: Good..
She gets up from where she sits, taking the glass with her heading for the front door.
Joanne: I swear he has the worst timin'.
Uh Oh follows after her. They reach the door and she opens it seeing Chris Clinton standing in front of her.
Chris Clinton: Miss Canelli... You look different...
Joanne just smiles
Joanne: Thank you... Come in, I know why you're here so lets get this over with.
Uh Oh: Shall I keep the dinner warming?
Joanne: Please. I'll be there shortly.
She kisses Uh Oh on the cheek as her eyes flash red before she lets out a soft sound, almost cat like. Uh Oh leaves the room to keep the food warming. Joanne watches him walk away and turns back toward Clinton smiling a sly smile.
Joanne: Come, we'll head into the livin' room.
Chris Clinton: Are you feeling alright Miss Canelli? I mean you're awfully pale... Not there's anything wrong with that...
Joanne just smiles as they walk into the spacious living room. A white Persian cat sits in a high backed deep red velour chair. Joanne picks the cat up and sits down placing the cat back in her lap.
Chris Clinton: Thank you for taking your time out of your busy night to speak with me.
Joanne: Of course.
Chris Clinton: Now in just a few days you will be facing off against the former NCW World Champion Frostbite. What do you think your chances are against the former champion?
Joanne: Really? Really? You have to ask me that? I've faced off against my former ex-husband, and I've managed to survive it! It was in a Camelot Pit Fight and yet you ask me what do I think my chances are? I'm goin' to do what I can to win this match and walk away with the win and one step closer to the end of this tournament. I plan on puttin' Frostbite out of his misery and mine in the end of this match!
Chris Clinton: Does it have you worried at all? I mean he is part of one of the best factions in NCW, or were one of the biggest and brightest. Are you worried that they will show up at all?
Joanne: No. I have my guys watchin' my back. And besides if they want to try and get involved they better think again. I'm not playin' games with these assholes. I'm in this tournament for one thin' and one thin' alone and that is to get to the end and when the company does reopen, if it does I will have my pick at whatever title I want. And if that means I have to put good ol Frosty out on his ass then so be it! I will do so, and move one and one step closer to what I want.
Chris Clinton: Those are some strong words. Is there anything else that you want to say to your opponent?
Joanne smiles as she pets the cat in her lap, and looks at Chris as her eyes turn red.
Joanne: I don't think so. I mean I'm not goin' to underestimate Frostbite by any means. I know what he can do in the middle of that ring. I've watched his matches, and for some reason that I can't fathom he came out and helped me in my last match. It might be the fact that we are on the same team at SWAT... Or it could be the fact that he wanted to face off against me instead of my last opponent. I can't remember who it was, maybe that's for the best. Frostbite just know I'm comin' for you and there isn't really anythin' that you can do to stop me. We are the Mafioso and we get paid to kick your ass! See you soon and good luck. You're goin' to need it!
Chris Clinton: Th-th-thank you Miss Canelli for your time...
He gets to his feet as Joanne smiles, with her eyes still glowing red. Her fangs could be seen as she gets to her feet, stopping just inches in front of Chris.
Joanne: Why don't you stay and have a bite?
Chris swallows heard as he shakes where he stands.
Chris Clinton: I-I-I'm afraid I have to be on my way! Thank you for your time!
He runs out of the living room, and out the front door slamming it behind him as he goes. Joanne laughs with her eyes turning back to their deep brown color once again.
Joanne: That was to easy! What a coward!
She sets the cat back in the high backed chair, and walks off toward the kitchen as the scene fades to black.
