Act 1: The Color of Space
Lots of little birdies flying around this ecosphere. Just gotta know how to decode them. Ezra - Color of Space 2020
The scene opens on the beautiful city of San Fransisco. The night had come on and the stars tried to sparkle against the bright lights of the city but still couldn't be seen. The moon cast its face tot eh ground below casting it's beams to the forest just outside of the city on the other side of the Golden Gate bridge. The smell of fresh pines, and flowers drifted on the air mixing with the smell of the harbor mixed with it. The lights of the tall buildings cast their lights to the water below as Alcatraz glistened in the middle of the harbor. The camera moves along the older part of the city and soon comes to a stop on a familiar home that was darkened within except for one room. A soft glow came from the window s a dull blue glow could be seen. As the camera moves to the interior of the house we see Phoenix moving through a screen filled with shows and movies. He stops on one as Venus walks into the room. This was a night of relaxation and peace for the young couple where they could curl up and catch a movie on one of the many streaming services they had. Venus was dressed in a t-shirt that read "The beauty of the Universe" on the front and a picture of her on the back and a pair of yoga pants that were done in a galaxy pattern with swirled colors. Phoenix wore a pair of dark silk sleep pants and no shirt, showing off his upper half. His hair was slicked back away from his face, as Venus curls up with him.
Venus: So what are we watching?
Phoenix: I was thinking about that new movie with Nicholas Cage in it.
Venus: What one?
Phoenix: The Color of Space.
Venus's eyes get wide as she gets up from the couch.
Phoenix: What's wrong?
Venus: I can't watch that.
Phoenix: Why not?
Venus: I've seen it.
Phoenix: When?
Venus: Not the movie, but the actual thing... It's hard to explain... I mean it's almost true to what the book is, but not fully.
Phoenix: So you're not going to watch it because it doesn't follow the book?
Venus: No... It's true. The story that Lovecraft spun is true. I've seen the color of space... It's hard to explain. It's not what people think it is.
Venus walks to the window and looks out into the night. Phoenix stares at her as he leans forward on the couch.
Phoenix: So what is it?
Venus: It's hard to explain... It's multiple things... It takes on forms, takes on shapes, possesses things and people. It makes them into things that should not be. I wish I had never seen it.
Phoenix: Ok... I still have no idea what you're talking about. I mean I thought it was just a...
Venus: Story? No... I've spoken with the old ones, the great old ones and things that no one should ever witness...
Phoenix gets to his feet and wraps his arms around Venus as he rests his head on her shoulder.
Phoenix: Why don't you go on and relax? We have to leave for New York in the morning for your match in a couple of days.
Venus nods, and turns kissing him softly.
Venus: That sounds like a good idea. I know Eduardo is probably ready for this match.
Phoenix: So are you. We've been training for the last few days.
Phoenix: I know... If you still want to watch it, go ahead. I'll be outside in the yard.
Phoenix nods, as Venus heads out through the darkened kitchen and out into the cool night. She stares up at the stars and smiles softly.
Venus: In just a few days Eduardo you and I will be facing off in the middle of the ring. I know that you have stood against some big names but then again so have I. I know that I haven't been in the ring lately but there is a reason. But that is neither here nor there. When I step into the ring with you just know that I will be ready to face you and everything and anything that you can throw at me. I'm not afraid of you by any means and I will do whatever it takes to go onto the next round. And I know you will too, but only one of us can walk away with the win. We are all connected. Every living being united in a single glorious existence. Open yourself to the universe. Embrace eternity!”
As she look back at the camera her eyes are nothing but black pools. She stares at the camera before it focuses on the sky above her as the scene fades to black.
