[The rain falls with its frigid intentions as Tyler Cross walks down the streets of Manchester. England. The smell of damp autumn leaves filters through the air. Tyler pulls his black cashmere trench-coat closer to soften the effects of the harsh autumn weather. We are mere days away from November 24th; November Reign; a Main Event between the Pinnacle Champion Michael Maddox and the longest ever reigning Bad Ass Mother F*cker Champion, and Thug Revolution member, Tyler Cross.] [Tyler’s foot falls down into a puddle and the water envelopes both his black boot, with silver buckles, and the bottom of his Armani suit pant-leg. The darkness shrouds him, he looks with longing eyes into the camera, through the camera, in fact, into the eyes of the man he will challenge for the ultimate prize at November Reign, Michael Maddox.] “Mike, Mike, Mike, you weren’t happy with the fact that I beat your wife in the Champion’s Run Tournament, well, I’m not happy that you’re holding MY title. You may have held it for the past two months, you may well have bested me in a Tables match but that will amount for nought when we face at November Reign. I am coming for you and coming for your title. My title as a matter of fact. For you see, after November Reign, Thug Revolution will hold all the gold. Fathi and Brian Kennedy will still be tag champs. Fathi will beat Hex Girl for the NCW People’s Championship; Brian Kennedy will beat the man who screwed me out of the longest-ever BAMF title reign, Johnny Reb. And yes, you better believe I will take the Pinnacle Title from you. Michael, remember, remember the 24th November. The day your title reign comes to an end. November Reign is the name of the Pay-Per-View and it will herald the reign of Tyler Cross. The reign of Thug Revolution.” [Tyler passes by Old Trafford and a statue of Sir Matt Busby. Old Trafford, the home of Manchester United Football Club. A home that has seen many magical nights. A home to many sporting greats. This Sunday, at November Reign, Manchester will be home another magical night, another sporting great in ‘The Extremist’ Tyler Cross. In Fathi. In Brian Kennedy. In all of Thug Revolution.] “We’re outside Old Trafford, a football stadium, a place of many memorable sporting moments. Manchester will once again play home to a memorable moment, the moment I, Tyler Cross, dethrone the great pretender, Michael Maddox and lay claim, lay siege to the Pinnacle Championship. Manchester, England, is not so far removed from my home place, Ireland, they have both suffered. There was the Potato Famine, there were uprisings, and there was a time when Coal Miners died from inhaling the very toxins they worked with. The people of America suffer, there is no great healthcare, there is an idiot in charge, and with Boris Johnson the Prime Minister of England it is like two men cut from the same cloth. There will be a change soon, not just in the political landscape of the world but in NCW too. There will be a change, and a new champion will stand tall, Thug Revolution are coming, we will not be stopped. We will not be silenced. We will not belittled. We are the present, the past, and the future. We are the be-all and end-all. We are life!”
“You’re one of those wrestlers, ain’t ya?”
“Sure am, Tyler Cross.”
“My son loves you, and Thug Revolution. He can’t enough of the stuff. Mind if I get an autograph for ‘im?”
“Sure thing.” Tyler replies.
[Tyler reaches into the inner upper pocket of his jacket and takes out a promotional NCW flyer. He then takes out a Black Sharpie, taking the lid from it, he then flashes his hand across the flyer and signs his unmistakable signature. He passes it to the cab-driver, who beams with a smirk.]
“Thanks, mate. My son’ll be thrilled with this.”
“No problem.”
[There is some more general chit-chat between driver and passenger but nothing much of note, until they reach their destination. The fare is £20 sterling; Tyler hands the cab driver a £50 note and says “keep the change.” He gets out with his cameraman, and looks up at the Manchester Arena.]
“This is where I lay my claim, where I put everything on the line in search of one prize, the Pinnacle Championship. It will be inside a Steel Cage, and that favours me. I wrestled inside the confines of a cage, an octagon, for a long time as BAMF Champion and I came to love the cage. To feel it. This will be no different. This arena will bear witness on the 24th of November to Tyler Cross and the crowning of a new champion. The 24th of November is a famous day in history, it is the day Lee Harvey Oswald was killed by Jack Ruby, it is the day the lead singer of Queen, Freddy Mercury died and it will become known as the day Tyler Cross defeated Michael Maddox and became the Pinnacle Champion!”
[Tyler reaches into his pocket and takes out a packet of Benson & Hedges cigarettes and a lighter. He flicks open the box with one hand, holding the lighter in the other. He jerks the box upward causing a solitary cigarette to protrude from the edge of the gold box. He raises it to his lips and takes the cigarette from the box using his mouth. He then flicks the lighter, flint hitting sulphur, causing a flame to dance a merry jig on the lighter. The two meet and with an inhalation smoke floats about and around the mouth and cigarette of the soon-to-be Pinnacle Champion. He takes a drag before each of his renowned phrases and blows smoke out as he utters those infamous words…]
“Time cascades…
… Ticking Clocks…
…. The Coming…
… The Champion…
(Two drags of the cigarette this time before bellowing out his final words amidst a cloud of smoke…)
Tyler Cross!”
[Fade to darkness]
