Act 1: Loneliness
“The loneliest moment in someone's life is when they are watching their whole world fall apart, and all they can do is stare blankly.”
Unknown
The scene opens on a tall hospital where Katsa was located The night had come on fast, but the bright lights of the hospital glowed against the night. The camera soon shows the interior of the hospital where the white walls glistened in the bright lights over head and the polished floors seemed to cast the reflections of those that made their way along the hallways. The smell of bleach, and other cleaning products filled the air, and the sounds of beeping machines, or gentle voices coming from behind closed doors could be heard. The nurses made their rounds before heading back to their stations to monitor their patients. A set of bronze colored elevator doors soon open and out steps Denise De'Vil. She carries a dozen white roses, in hand and moves past the desk as her spurs click against the polished floor. As she enters the darkened room of Katsa the curtains drawn closed and the lights turned off only the little bit of illumination of the machines she is hooked up to cast any light. The rhythmic beeping of the machines fill the room. A dark pall of oppressive sadness fills the room. Katsa's abdomen showing signs of life growing inside of her as she lays motionless her mouth and nose and veins filled with tubes to give her water, nutrients, medicine and oxygen to keep her and her unborn child living. Even in the darkness one corner seems to swallow the darkness like an endless void with two deep black orbs like polished onyx shine in the dark. Denise looks at the corner and sets the roses down before drawing the silver blade from her side and seems to move in a flash toward the black orbs. The figure stares at her unblinkingly. A voice erupts from the darkness with condescension and arrogance.
Voice: Please, put that pig sticker away, it doesn't scare me, and it doesn't show anything but an easily exploitable temper for you.
The voice belonged to Alexander Morfynn. The third triple of Ambros and Katsa. The cruel and sinister evil triplet. While Katsa may be unpredictable and a bit crazy she also had love in her heart. Something missing of this Morfrynn child. He stood to his towering 7'1". Peering down at the unintimidated Denise. He uses a finger to push her blade away from his throat.
Dark Nexus: Your little psycho pixie witch friend has cast a binding on me to protect my sister and her unborn brat.
Denise slowly pulls the blade away keeping her eye on Dark Nexus.
Denise: Really? The great and powerful Dark Nexus taken down and bound by the Pixie? Forgive me if I don't laugh...
Dark Nexus: The greater one's powers the greater the laws can be exploited by lesser beings.
Denise sighs, and sits on the edge of Katsa's bed, watching the machines breath for her.
Denise: Can you give me a few minutes?
Dark Nexus raises a questioning brow.
Dark Nexus: I suppose you are harmless... to her.....
Denise: Get out...
Dark Nexus smirks and starts to exit.
Dark Nexus: I'll go speak with my dear brother. I doubt he would be far from your side.
He then closes the door before she can reply. She goes to throw something at the door, but catches herself turning to Katsa.
Denise: I'm sorry I haven't been here to see you more often... I've been busy. Katsa I did something stupid, and I don't what to do. I let someone take Ambros! And they are... They are trying to break him. To use him against me... If you were here I know you would go on about something that we could do to get him back and I would drift in and out but I would agree with it just to have him back in my arms. We found you... But even then we were to late....
She looks down at the floor, and sighs.
Denise: And that is what I am afraid of. I'm to late...
The only reply in the almost silent room is the machine checking her pulse beeping and then the hiss of the machine pumping oxygen into her lungs. Denise sighs, fighting back tears that had now threatened to fall.
Denise: I wish you were here to tell me that I can get through this, and that we'll get him back. That you will help me, no matter what condition you were in.
A soft knock taps at the door. She looks up at the door, putting her hand on the blade at her side.
Denise: Come in.
The door opens and a young man in a white doctor's coat enters his blond hair unruly but clean as if it had a mind of it's own. His jade colored eyes similar to Katsa and Ambros but more almond shape. He seemed very young too young to be a doctor. This was the half brother of Ambros and Katsa. Miyamoto Honda Morfrynn. Miho for short by family. He saw Denise and bowed to her politely.
Miho: I am sorry for interrupting.
Denise: No it's fine. How is she Miho?
Miho: She is as fine as to be expected. The baby is growing. I hoped to have seen your brother. Perhaps he has been busy. I worry he might be having dark thoughts of self doubt. As I sense you yourself are having similar thoughts.
Denise looks at him.
Denise Dread is Dread.... He's going through something that I can't even figure out. Me... I'm... I'm fine...
Miho: Ambros is a fighter, Dark nexus got a portion of the dark energies from our father. Katsa got her mothers succubus abilities. I got empathy and a bit of a psychic shine. I am a doctor. I am here to help. Especially family.
Denise: I'm not sure if you can help me Miho.
Miho: We can only try.
Denise sighs.
Denise: Miho if you can help me then do so... I need to find him. I can't let this family down again.
Miho: You've never let this family down. You saved my father, and my sister. You will save my brother as well. They can hurt our bodies, poison our minds but in the end we heal we survive we grow stronger. It is the Morfrynn way. Just don't give up on him. I will do what I can to find him. I will do what I can to keep healing Katsa. But you also need healing of the mind and heart. If you need to talk or vent I am here for you.
Denise gets to her feet, and heads toward the door.
Denise: Thank you Miho.
Miho: He loves you and always will. Ignore the shadows and lies of those shadows. Trust your heart. And feel free to stab Alex he won't die but he needs to be stabbed on occasion for everyone else's good.
Denise nods and walks out of the room. She turns to Alex as he goes to say something but she hits him with a hard right punch sending him to the floor. She smirks and walks off as the scene fades to black.
Act 2: Not a Good Time...
The scene opens on the long hallway that lead away from Katsa's room and toward the elevator. The sound of machines were now muffled, but the smell of cleaning products, seem to drift on the air. We see Denise standing in front of the bronze elevator door watching the numbers coming up. The doors soon open and she steps inside and presses the button for the lobby. She leans against the back of the car and sighs watching the doors close.
Denise: Anna do you realize what you have started? You took something from me that is very special and trust me I will get him back. And when I do there will be hell to pay. You haven't broken me, and you're not going to... Ambros is stronger than you think, and no matter what you put him through my love is always with him. As for our match you are walking into something that you have never experienced before. You don't have any experience in the ring or very little. I beat you once before and I plan on doing it again and sending a message to the rest of the fools that claim to be the best of the best.
The elevator doors open and in steps a rather nicely dressed man. Denise looks at him and then back down at the floor. The doors close once again, and she sighs.
Denise: This is not a good time.
Man: Why? No one has been able to put an end to you. But that's where your time ends and mine begins.
Denise smirks and looks up at the numbers.
Denise: We can't do it here... Lets go to the roof.
He nods, as the doors open to the lobby. Neither one step out, and Denise presses the button for the top floor. The doors close once again, as Denise watches the numbers go up.
Denise: (Voice Over) Anna do you really think you are ready for what is about to happen to you? I mean think about it. You've only had one match against me, and you failed the first time. Since then I have managed to make it through the champion run, and now I'm in the last few. I've taken down every opponent that has been thrown against me since I started in this business, and you have yet to even prove yourself. You are not champion material by any means. I'm not backing down from this fight. And yes I am worried about Ambros, and I know what he can take before he will break, but even you don't have what it takes to do it. I've seen him fight through it all. He knows I love him, and will fight to the bitter end for him. As he would for me. When this match is done Anna I will have him in my arms again, and you will be left with nothing... Then what will you say? Where did you go wrong? Why couldn't I beat her? Then you'll turn to your little friends and cry into the arms that you were beaten by the Deathbringer. She let me live! Is what you'll say. And you'll be lucky I leave you that way in the end after what you have done.
They soon reach the upper most floor, and head for a door with the words" STAFF ONLY" written on it. Denise sighs, and knocks the small lock off of it, and they head through it. They both walk up the long flight of stairs, and soon the reach the roof. Denise pushes the door open and they step through. It slams behind them, as the sound of wind moves around them.
Denise: Lets make this quick. I have somewhere to be.
Man: Really? That's not I heard.
Denise's eyes flash red, before she pulls the long silver blade from her side. The man rushes at her, but she blocks his blade with a quick move causing sparks to come from the blades as they connect. Denise pushes back, and he stumbles slightly, but goes to rush at her again. She side steps him and hits him with a roundhouse kick sending him into one of the heating units hitting his back.
Denise: Is that all you have?
Denise moves toward him, with blade in front of her. He pushes her back, and jumps up onto the heating unit. He kicks Denise in the face and sends her reeling to the ground. He leaps down, and laughs as he puts his blade at her throat.
Man: I could take your head right now. And they would treat me like a king! The Deathbringer would finally be brought down!
Denise: More would come at you and your luck would run out sooner than you think.
He laughs as he plunges his blade into her shoulder, as she cringes in pain. He soon pulls the blade back, and steps back, and goes to raise his blade only to have Denise plunge her blade into hi chest. He staggers back, as she gets to her feet.
Denise: (Voice Over) Anna do you realize what I have been through? I fight for my life each and every day, and now you think you're going to put an end to me? I'm going to fight you tooth and nail before I give up. I will put you through hell and back, and make you wish you were dead. I've seen the darkness within humans and the chaos they can cause. You are nothing but human, and can bleed, and eventually die. Me... I will outlast you all. When you are gone, no one will remember you, but I will remain. I will never get old, I will never die, I will always be here and continue on in companies just like this one. You see in the end Anna you will be placed in that casket, and buried alive. Trust me I will take such great joy in finishing you and taking my man back, and leave you with nothing.
She goes for a strong swing but he blocks it knowing that she was now aiming for his head. he smirks as she tries to catch her breath.
Man: Nice move.
Denise: I'm not done yet!
She runs and leaps into the air and lands behind him, as a flash from her blade is seen. Something thudding to the ground is heard, as the clouds start to roll over head, as thunder and lighting flashes through the sky. The wind picks up, as the lighting hits Denise causing her to drop her sword to the ground with a loud clang as it hit against the edge o the heating unit on the roof. She drops to her knees as another round of lighting hits her. She finally hits the ground as the world goes dark around her, as the scene fades to black.
Act 3: Family is that all matters
The scene reopens on a familiar home. It was the one that she shared with Ambros. the old Victorian seemed older now, and seemed to be filled with sadness where once love and happiness could be found. The camera moves to the interior where the once Christmas ready display would be was cold and dark. The fire in the fire place had died out as the cold air started to form once again, and all that is seen is Denise sitting in front of the fire place in a high backed chair. She had been attacked on the way back by another like herself, and managed to live once again. A glass of red wine sat on the small table beside her, untouched, and in her and was a photograph of her and Ambros. The sound of shadowy feathers can be heard in the dark corners of the room. A voice of power and dignity can be heard.
Voice: Dear Daughter, may I fully manifest?
Denise doesn't turn, but leans forward and sighs.
Denise: Yes.
As the shadows swirl and take the form of Darkson. The father of Ambros, Katsa, Dark Nexus, and Miho.
Darkson: How are you holding up?
Denise: I'm fine...
Darkson: You do not need to be strong for me. I understand that hook in your stomach twisting with dread, guilt, and fear. Blaming yourself for something that is not your fault.
Denise gets to her feet, and folds her arms in front of her.
Denise: Yeah it is. I mean if I had just given her what she wanted the first time.... Maybe... No, he WOULD be here with me! They have him, and I have no clue where he is. They have done horrible things to him and... and...
She finally breaks down, and falls to her knees. The once powerful Deathbringer, a woman that had been through it all finally broke. Darkson the often aloof specter kneels beside her placing a hand on her.
Darkson: If you gave in, their is no assurance that they would not have done this anyways. To surrender without a fight would only enable them to attack, kidnap, and harm others. They chose the wrong family to attack. When I was being controlled did Ice Queen give up on me?
She looks up at him with tears still falling.
Denise: No... She fought for you... Ive let Ambros slip through my hands at least half a dozen times... I don't even know why you are not upset with me. I've tried to protect him from the threats that come at me. Whether they are after me or anyone else for that matter. He's stood by me, and I him...
Darkson: You didn't give up when Katsa was taken. You didn't give up on Ambros when his own inner demons took him Trust me the inner demons are the hardest to fend off. Apocalypse may have an army. But you have a family.
She wipes away her tears and starts to get to her feet. She staggers a little bit, but catches herself.
Denise: I know.... I don't plan on giving up. I think it was just everything at once, you know...
Darkson:I know all too well. We are here for you. You are never alone.
Denise: After being alone for so long it's hard to get use to that idea. I've dealt with lot on my own, and now... I have someone to stand with. The Darkside has always been family as well as far back as I can remember.
Darkson: Ice Queen, Hex Girl, Thor, Miho, and I will help whenever you need it.
Denise: Thank you. I know what I have to do. But I know that they will try and play the numbers game or something to keep me distracted.
Darkson: We will keep the Forsaken busy
Denise: Good. I'll need all the help I can get. I might have to make a phone call... I know there are a few others that might want in.
Darkson: We may be the being spawned of Shadows but it is not blood that makes one evil but actions. We often try to keep a sense of honor something Apocalypse knows nothing about. So we shall teach them wrath and misery.
Denise: I'll bring him home, and they will pay for what they've done. They will never take what is mine.
Darkson: I know that to be true. But if you ever doubt ask Venus and Hex Girl.
Denise: I will. I think I need to get some air...
Darkson: Understandable. Goode eve. Daughter.
Darkson melts back into the darkness and vanishes into the darkness leaving Denise alone once again. She looks down at the fireplace and turns grabbing her leather jacket off of the hook by the door. She walks out into the night, and down the stairs, towards a black mustang that sat at the bottom. She opens the door and gets in, as it seems to roar to life. The car soon pulls away, and heads off into the night. The scene soon reopens on somewhere in New York city. The long stretch of road, was empty except for a handful of cars of all different makes. The black mustang soon pulls up and Denise steps out looking around at the other cars.
Denise: (Voice Over) Anna I know that you're going to try to come at me with everything that you have, but we know it's not going to be enough to stop me. I've let my emotions control me, but no more. I can be impulsive and let my anger rage but what's the point? I have to be focused in this match to show you that I am a force that cannot be defeated. In total I have held my title for over 2 years and you have yet to prove yourself in this company and show any sign of true potential. I know you will have people to help you but so will I. My family is with me, and always will be. I should have seen that all this time. Family will always be stronger than what you can throw at me. I plan on destroying you, and then moving right on to the rest of them. If you think you have what it takes to stop me then bring everything that you have into the middle of that cemetery and try to take my title, my hope, and my revenge from me. My love is strong enough to get me through this match, and when all is said and done you will be left with nothing and buried 6 feet under. The Deathbringer comes and she comes for thee. See you soon Anna, and good luck, you're going to need it.
She laughs as she whistles, and a young man comes toward her. She tosses him a wad of bills and smirks walking off back toward the black mustang, and gets in. The car roars to life. The cars that were lined up soon take off and disappear into the night as the scene fades to black.
