What do the most influential, the most relevant people in this business have in common? The answer is simple… power!
Power is a very emotional word. People’s responses to it are varied. Will they shine and improve with said power? Or will they crumble at the very thought of what the power means? I don’t think of it as something to be imposed. I don’t think of it as something to run away from. I have been in positions of power in numerous federations and I always excelled. The power that Mike Maddox and Hex Girl currently find themselves in seldom lasts. Not when you have a group as relevant, a group as strong as Thug Revolution hunting them down. You either shape your perceptions or someone shapes them for you. You do what you want to do, what you have to do, or else you respond to someone else’s plan for you.
[Fade In]
{I can’t lose one week and win the next. I can’t let the likes of Forsaken I defeat me. I know I didn’t tap out but I passed out and that’s almost as bad.} Four Wrestlers....
Three Titles....
Two Teams....
One Goal.
{An angel fallen from amidst the skies now walks among us breathing the same air, walking the same terrain... feeling the same glory... feeling the same pain.}
{A returning soul from the depths of no return. Accolades follow this man wherever he resides yet he is still unfulfilled, still looking to advance... looking to prove his worth.}
{A battle tested warrior, an enigma. Grounded by none, challenged by many, one man... one soul... driven by a goal to be the very best... the one man he hasn't overcome now stands in his path... a path to the championship... }
{The one.... the only... the legend... Fathi. Living amidst the reputation he truly deserves... once again he stands face-to-face with a man of high regard... a possibility to rectify the past... a possibility once again to test himself alongside Tyler Cross}
"I have lived through it all.... Titles... Losing those very titles... Federations along with myself have come and gone, now once again I am greeted with a challenge, a challenge I can... No!... Will overcome. "
[The scene opens with Tyler Cross sitting on a wall, his large black trench coat rustles in the wind a little lying beside him, he resides outside the Hydro Arena in Glasgow, Scotland, his eyes rise along the building's external monstrosity. Tyler quickly relieves himself of these thoughts and composes himself with the matter at hand. Neo Championship Wrestling and the Main Event]
"It sure has been a while since I've felt like this. Anxiety, anticipation. I think everyone feels like this. Fans cheers still ring throughout my head, the world has awaited something like this, a match joins Tyler Cross and Fathi. It also joins myself and the many wrestlers that will step inside the ring next Assault. Each and every one of us will do our utmost to prove ourselves to be above the others and true to our words. It's what we've always done. I've learned not to get caught up in my reputation, unfortunately the same can't be said for you Mike Maddox nor can it be said for you Hex Girl."
[Tyler tilts his head to the right and looks up at a large billboard boasting an advertisement for the upcoming event. Mike Maddox is seen raising his CCW Heavyweight Title above his head. He stares at this for a few moments before tilting his head downwards and shaking his head.]
"Mike Maddox, I understand a great deal of your actions and your thoughts for I too once felt like you do now.Untouchable. A Legend. I too beat all the top athletes. All those who stood in my way failed to pose even the slightest of threats. You too feel like this, correct? Granted you've beaten the best NCW had to offer at the time you challenged for the but broaden your horizons look beyond the immediate and see that are many more challenges, one of which you face this Thursday, me! You even just have to look to the men who have come back, Fathi, Eric Herrera how many of them have you beaten? None. You have much to prove and much to learn."
[Tyler hoists his jacket off of the wall and tosses it over his shoulders. He hastily closes it and begins to walk away from the gargantuan building. Away from what, even if just for a while, Tyler can call a home..... home... the word implants itself in Tyler's subconscious and it hits him. The past he has suppressed, the past he had been able to ignore while he was away from the wrestling circuit, is upon him again and has inserted itself into Tyler's career. It's a damned ultimatum, on one hand, there's peace, serenity and tranquillity something he loves but it means being without wrestling. On the other hand, he has that very thing he injects his blood, sweat, tears and very breath into, wrestling but with it comes grave anger; memories of his past flood his brain. Affecting his every move, affecting how he wrestles, his thoughts, moods and words.]
{Not this time.... not any time.... let it lie Tyler.... what happened 'her' wasn't your fault.}
{Keep telling yourself that Tyler ... make it easier ... you didn't leave her alone, right? she was older anyway or did you kill her?}
{SHUT UP!!! SHUT THE F*CK UP!!!}
[This internal struggle with his past and its actions cause Tyler to throw a tightly clenched fist into the wall as he leaves. Many eight day locals stop and mumble as they gaze upon one of the men they will no doubt see perform in a few days. Tyler begins to walk without saying a word comprehending his situation, coming to terms with these memories, this ever-relevant problem from all those years ago. Tyler closes his eyes to drown out everything, the pedestrians, the wrestling world and most importantly his memories. The blindness his eyes provide allow him to return to the time of peace... his ecstatic nature waking up in the morning without more scars... without waking up in a nameless hospital surrounded by unfamiliar faces... having to take a few moments to recollect just who he was. The serenity of feeling joyous about life, about what he could do and provide to another aspect of the world rather than focusing on one goal... on one subject, wrestling.]
Tyler’s eyes flicker open...
" But those times are gone....
It's time to get back to business, time to show the world...
Time to show Mike Maddox and Hex Girl!! "
[After reaching a secluded area, Tyler leapfrogs onto a small-elevated piece of ground and leans back against a wall. He doesn't look the man he was all those months ago when he held title after title when he truly was worthy of the title of 'legend'. His eyes show the same ferocity, his hands tremble with the same heartfelt anger and determination to reach his goal. He breathes the same air as before but his body grows tired. He is not immortal; he is not immune to pain. He is not living beneath an alias nor a mask to place a 'front' over his true self.... he is what you see before you, human.]
"Mike Maddox and Hex Girl. You've often boasted of your title reigns and of your achievements in other federations, think about the tense you're using. Past. I like many others, have held tens of titles in the past but we leave them there, we had them they are gone. I know the first thing you'll refer to is a tear inducing complaint of how unfair it is you've to fight again for a title you just won. Listen up, nobody cares, this is a ruthless business and you'll just have to live with the setbacks. The titles you won in the past have already gained you a reputation, a reputation that's hard to shake off. Think back to the last time I was inside the boundaries of a federation, within three matches in Shrouded Enigma Entertainment I became and still hold the Transylvanian Championship. I was battle-tested and had prevailed over everything but it wasn't what I truly wanted. The NCW franchise much like its Pinnacle title mean so much more to than SEE or any title there.
[Tyler signals for the cameraman to follow as he continues down the old road, past many dilapidated buildings and small mounds of unused dirt and discarded items. Tyler seems un-phased by his less than appealing surroundings and continues relentlessly through the marshy terrain and small puddles soaking the ends of his trousers, which drag through the pebbles as he continues to walk. Tyler’s hair is tossed around by the prevailing wind, a small glimmer of sunlight cascades through an opening in the bushes. After a few moments walking we come to a green path. A small mesmerising lake stands within our view and Tyler pauses for a moment, comprehending the majestic beauty of his surroundings he then walks forward once again and crouches down in front of the small pond. He gazes into his reflection, searching the murky depths of the pond for the words he needs to convey his feelings. After orchestrating his thoughts Tyler flicks his wrist and uses his fingertips to distort his reflection and cause a ripple through his image. He then stands up but remains with his back to the camera.]
"Let me ask you this Maddox. Did you really think you had evaded me? Did you honestly believe that I would allow my legacy, allow my honour be tainted by leaving you with the upper hand? I couldn't... my pride wouldn't allow it, my lust, my ambition has brought me back and destiny has caused our paths to finally collide. Confident? You've beaten them all, right? Think again Mike. You've never stepped in the ring against me. You've never faced the challenge that I, "The Extremist" provide. Contrasting styles, conflicting motives, different beliefs should provide for an entertaining event. Without a doubt only one team will stand tall after all is said and done and it will be Fathi and I. Thug Revolution. Something makes me feel this won't be our only encounter. Something makes me feel, pride and glory will bring us together in the coming months. As it stands, you are now beginning to comprehend the power, the worth of a reputation; all four of us have been granted the opportunity to wrestle in the Main Event. Some may disagree but it isn't about who wants it more, it's down to who can bring the best performance to the ring. I'm not at one hundred percent but I know I've got what it takes to overcome you and Hex Girl, this, my friend is nothing more than a premonition. A warning of what is to be expected at Assault. Prepare yourself to feel pain... to truly 'fall'... as someone else once said... prepare for Judgement Day!!"
[Tyler turns around in an instance smiling intently. His body is screaming with intensity, integrity but his eyes show compassion. As thought what he has said shall come to pass.]
