Act 1: Not what I call a threat
The scene opens on the beautiful city of Ocean City. The sky was a bright blue, and the white clouds drifted over head in silence. The boardwalk was filled with people and once again, a handful braved the cold waters of the Atlantic Ocean to go swimming to cool off from the heat of the day. The smells from the local restaurants and small stands drifted on the air, as he sounds of screams coming from the rides filled the air. The camera moves along the boardwalk past the stores, and toward what appears to be a small cafe with tables with umbrellas sitting outside. We see two familiar faces sitting at one of the tables. It was Joanne and Uh Oh enjoying a day away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and business.
Uh Oh: Those people sound terrified on those crazy torture machines...
Joanne laughs as she sips at the cold coffee that sat in front of her.
Joanne: Trust me those rides are great. It's been a while since I've been on them.
Uh Oh: Never been on one too scary.
Joanne: We might have to change that. But for now.... I just want to relax and enjoy my time off.
Uh Oh: I will do my best to make your day most pleasant.
Joanne takes his hand, and smiles softly.
Joanne: You already have.
He kisses her hand.
Uh Oh: Nervous about your match?
Joanne: What's there to be nervous about? I mean AJ hasn't done anythin' to make me worry about.
Uh Oh: He was a former champ... then again so are you. I know you'll bust his head in.
Joanne smiles, as she gets to her feet, and extends her hand to Uh Oh.
Joanne: Thank you for that vote of confidence. I know that he'll try everythin' that he can to stop me but we both know its not goin' to be enough. How long did he hold the People's Title anyway?
Uh Oh: A little over 3 months
Uh Oh stands with her. They start to walk along the long stretch of board walk as a few people stop and watch them pass.
Joanne: Hell I've held titles longer than that. I know I haven't held one in NCW but that time is comin'.
Uh Oh: You were Eternity champion for 105 days...
Joanne looks at him and sighs.
Joanne: Too many bumps to the head. Alright so I've had a title and I'll get another one again. But AJ hasn't even had a rematch for the People's Title yet. What does that tell you?
Uh Oh: Maybe he is beaten down, sore, and tired. Not good against the most beautiful and deadly woman I know.
Joanne blushes slightly
Joanne: You're makin' me blush.
Uh Oh: I like making you blush.
Joanne: You like makin' me do a lot more than that.
She smiles as she kisses him. They soon reach the Amusement park and head inside. The sound of the screams from those on the rides fill the air mixing with music, as the smells from the vendors mix together.
Uh Oh: I was never allowed to go to these places growing up. It's so loud and colorful
Joanne: What a shame. My dad use to take me here with my brother almost every weekend. Just so we could spend time with him.
Uh Oh: My mother was a bit protective. I didn't get to do much growing up. Do you know how hard it is to make dinner but only allowed to use a plastic butter knife to cut meat?
Joanne: Not really...My mother used to cook for everyone... I mean everyone in the house. And I mean everyone. The family, the guards....
Uh Oh: So what do we do first?
Joanne: We can hit a few rides... We'll start with something easy...
Uh Oh: Okay... where to?
She smiles and pulls him toward a shimmering silver ride with red stripes on each car. The SCRAMBLER in bright lights sat over head. It moved quickly as they watched it move. Uh Oh's knees shake nervously.
Uh Oh: Uhm... I'm scared I'll throw up on you
Joanne: Don't worry about it. It wouldn't be the first time. When I was like 5 I ended up throwin' up on my dad when I rode this for the first time.
Uh Oh: Okay... we can try...
The ride soon stops and Joanne and Uh Oh hop on the nearest car. She ushers him in first, and closes the door and pulls the bar in.
Joanne: Hold on!
Uh Oh closes his eyes tight and locks on a white knuckled death grip. The ride moves around a few times, whipping them out, only to bring them back in. Joanne laughs as the wind whips around them, blowing her hair this way and that. The ride soon stops, and they are let off the ride. Uh Oh flails his arms like a crazed windmill and falls over the rail to the ground below with a thud.
Uh Oh: Pw...
Joanne rushes to his side, and helps him to his feet.
Joanne: Are you alright?
Uh Oh: Just.. dizzy...
Joanne: Come on, we'll play a few games to relax.
Joanne leads him away from the rides, and towards to where the games are located. Uh Oh follows on wobbly legs. As they round a corner, hey run into Chris Clinton. Joanne sighs, but smiles as she sees him coming toward them.
Joanne: How did you know we were here?
Chris Clinton: Your boys told me where you were
Joanne: I see... Uh Oh why don't you go and try to win me somethin'?
Uh Oh: Okay!
Uh Oh wanders off. Joanne watches him walk off before turning her attention back to Chris.
Joanne: Can we make this quick? I'm tryin' to spend the day with my husband if you don't mind.
Chris Clinton: Of course... Now you'll be facing off against the former Pride of the People's Champion in just a few days. What do you think you think you're chances are?
Joanne: My chances? My chances are hell of a lot better than what his are goin' to be. I'm not playin' around. I've faced bigger and badder, held titles and he thinks he's a threat to me? He's managed to get a hold of the People's title, but he didn't hold it for very long did he? Three months and then it was done. He lost it to someone that didn't deserve it either. But it's not for a title, or even to get the number one contender spot. It's just a simple street fight to see which one of us is the best, and we all know who's it goin' to be in the end. It's goin' to be me.
Chris Clinton: Those are some strong words. Are you worried about anyone getting involved in your match?
Joanne looks at him with a raised eye brow.
Joanne: Who does he have watchin' his back? Storm is gone! Hell everyone that he has sided with is gone , and I have a lot of people that would gladly back me if I need it. Anyone that tries to interfere better be right with God.
Chris Clinton: You sound like you already have this match won.
Joanne: I'm not sayin' that I do. I'm just sayin' that if he was smart he wouldn't show up to this match. I'm not afraid of anyone that I face, nor will I back down from a fight from anyone that stands in my way. I'm not goin' to underestimate him that's for sure, but I know what I can do. I'll be ready for anythin' that AJ can throw at me. The thin' is he better be ready for anythin' that I can throw at him. I'm in my element in a street fight and when I get started I go until my opponent bleeds, and trust me he's goin' to bleed.
Joanne smiles as she sees Uh Oh coming back from the games area with a giant white and silver teddy bear in his arms.
Joanne: Well... It looks like Uh Oh is done... And so am I. See you around Chris.
She takes the bear from him as they walk along the boardwalk and toward the games. As they pass by one of the booths, the camera picks up a guy that is on the ground, with broken bat beside him. Joanne smirks as she looks back at Uh Oh who just smiles and takes her hand in his, as they continue to walk along the boardwalk as the scene fades to black.
