Act 1: Revenge!
If you prick us do we not bleed? If you tickle us do we not laugh? If you poison us do we not die? And if you wrong us shall we not revenge?
William Shakespeare
The scene opens on the home that Denise and Ambros now share. Denise walks downstairs dressed in a black shirt with the words "Deathbringer Cometh" in a deep purple on the back and a pair of tight black leather pants. Her long hair was draped down her back and still wet from her shower. Her soft foot falls move along the hardwood floors and toward the kitchen where she had left Ambros. The sound of cooking utensils can be heard along with muttered cursing. Denise walks back into the kitchen and smiles softly. Ambros can be seeing a shirt and long pants now the floor is swept and mopped and the garbage taken out as the smell of bacon cooking fills the air.
Denise: You've been busy.
Ambros: What can I say, I spent so much time in bed I need to make up for lost time.
He says as his movement would normally be discernible to the average eye but she can see him wince a little as he puts weight on his leg. She watches him for a minute and moves to him hugging him seeing him wince.
Denise: What happened?
Ambros: Told you I had to be careful or I would overdo myself.
Denise: I know that, but there is something... Off...
Ambros: You need to focus on Avery, you know I will be fine.
Denise: I'm ready for anything that she can throw at me.
Ambros: She will target your legs to stop your best moves.
Denise: I have no doubt she will. But I'll watch her and make sure that she goes down. I've faced her before... And I don't plan on letting her walk away with my title again.
Ambros: I know you won't.
He makes her a plate of french toast, bacon, eggs, toast, and fresh fruit before making his own plate and sets hers down and then sets his down. Denise takes a bite of the bacon and smiles leaning back in the high backed chair at the table.
Denise: Are you sure you're alright?
He sits down gingerly and nods a but before taking a bite.
Ambros: Of course.
Denise looks at him with a soft smile and relaxes some.
Denise: I'm sorry if I keep asking how you are, I'm just worried about you.
Ambros: I'm sorry for worrying you. You have enough to worry about. Any word from Hex Girl or your brother for leads on my sister?
Denise shakes her head as she pours maple syrup over the french toast on her plate.
Denise: Nothing. Wherever he has Katsa it's hidden well.
Ambros: He is a well trained sociopath like something from an action movie.
Denise: I know. I have Du Lac's people on it too, and no one has managed to turn up anything.
Ambros: Father, Du Lac, Venus, Hex Girl and no one can find this guy?
Denise: He had to have someone help him hide her that knew what they were doing.
Ambros: Alex?
Denise nods.
Denise: Yeah. He would be the only one that knew how keep her out of view.
Ambros: He needs a punch in the throat.
Denise: Or a good kick in the balls. All of them do actually.
Ambros: He is family how could he do this?
Denise: It could be that he's out for revenge for being put in his place by your father.
Ambros: Maybe, he was always petty.
Denise nods as she finishes off the french toast.
Denise: True he has.
Ambros finishes his toast and eggs. Denise finishes off what is on her plate and gets up from where she sits. She moves to the sink seeing what appears to be a small smudge of blood against the counter. She runs her fingers along it and looks at Ambros.
Denise Ambros... Is this blood?
Ambros: Yeah, I'm not very coordinated anymore.
Denise: I see...
She looks at the back door, and sees it off of the hinges slightly.
Denise: The door wasn't like that this morning... Someone was here...
Ambros just sighs.
Ambros: It isn't something I can discuss
Her eyes seem to flash red, as she turns and starts to head to the door.
Denise: He's dead!
Ambros grabs her wrist gently.
Ambros: He doesn't know you know. Don't chase, ambush.
Denise raises an eyebrow and smiles.
Denise: Alright.
Ambros: My injuries will heal.
Denise: This is because of what Ice Queen and I did to him.
Ambros: It is a constant one upping. We need to figure out an endgame.
Denise: That we do. We have to get people together and take him out one way or another.
Ambros: Perhaps we should talk to my little brother.
Denise: Sounds like a plan. I'll wait outside for you. I'll get the bike ready.
Ambros: I don't think I can ride with my leg.
Denise: Then I'll go. Stay here and keep the doors locked.
Ambros: Want me to call Uh Oh to guard me while I am at it?
She sighs, and shakes her head smiling softly.
Denise: He is pretty good with a bat.
Ambros: Maybe I'll just call them over for a poker day.
Denise: And if need be...
She presses a button and the wall slides back revealing a wall full of weapons ranging from maces to long swords that shimmered in the bright morning sun.
Denise: You always use these.
Ambros: My father has a series of walls like that, maybe ask him about it.
Denise: I have no doubt. I'll be back soon.
She kisses him and hits the button once again, as the wall slides back. He kisses her back
Ambros: Be safe.
Denise: I will.
She grabs a helmet off of the table and heads out the door and down the stairs and towards the Harley that sat at the bottom of the stairs. She puts the helmet on, and the bike seems to come to life. She soon pull away from the curb. Ambros watches her depart. She soon disappears down the road as the scene fades to black.
The scene reopens on a long stretch of road where we see Denise moving along on the black and red Harley. She had removed the helmet and now her long hair was blowing in the wind along with the trench coat that she wore. Her thoughts kept going back to what Evan had done, but Ambros was right. She would wait, and take him down when he didn't see it coming. Her match with Avery was coming up and she knew she had a fight on her hands, but she would do it, no matter what.
Denise: Now I know you have more than likely said something about our match Avery and I really don't care what it was. I've been busy trying to find Katsa and keep everyone around me safe and out of the hands of that bastard Evan Storm. You have something I want and I plan on getting it back. I know that you will put up a fight and try to keep it as long as you can but I'm afraid I can't let that happen. I've been the longest reigning Siren's Champion and I plan on taking it back at any cost, and hold onto it again for as long as I did last time if not longer, but first I have to take it back and put you back down the ladder with the rest of the Siren's that wish to take it from me. You can try but you will fail.
She smiles to herself as she rounds a corner bringing the bike almost to the ground as she does. She straightens it back up and continues on. The once lush forest soon gives way to a strange looking almost dead forest. The tall trees were gnarled, and twisted into what appeared to be claws. There was no sound of birds, no animals, nothing. She shivers but keeps going.
Denise: Once I get the info I need then I'll focus on what I need to do in my match. I'm not letting you walk out of this match in one piece Avery. I can't. I had the title taken away from me but I plan on getting it back. If that means I have to destroy you just to get what I want then so be it. I have nothing against you Avery, and just know that it just something that has to be done. In the end I hope you will consider me a friend and ally when all is said and done. The Deathbringer comes and she comes for thee. See you soon Avery and good luck, you're going to need it.
She revs the bike and moves down the road with a burst of speed and seems to fade into nothingness as the scene fades to black.
