Act 1: Time to Relax
The scene opens on the beautiful Irish countryside. Rolling hills were now a lighter green speckled with brown grass on the vast fields that stretched out as far as the eye could see. The animals were in their warm barns away from the cold air. The camera moves over the countryside and along the long stretch of river that flowed between the two mountainsides that loomed over the it. The water rushed from the heavy rains, but still remained in it's banks. The tall trees were now bare and the sweet smell of the flowers that once drifted on the air was now gone, and replaced by the smell of ozone from the rains. The temperature had fallen into the lower numbers even with the sun shinning brightly against the clear blue sky. The camera moves quickly over the valley until it comes to a stop on the McCullen Ranch. The sound of silence is heard across the ranch as it is broken by the sound of dogs barking. A whistle is soon heard and the gray Irish wolf hounds make their way to the smaller house just behind the main house, where we see Avery standing on the doorstep with Shaun and Marty. The dogs run up onto the doorstep and into the house as she holds the door open and the three of them walk in behind.
Shaun: Where have those two been?
Marty: Who knows. You know them, they wander the grounds like it's nothing anyway. Chasing rabbits more than likely.
Avery: Probably.
Shaun: So what are you going to do about your match?
Avery: What do you mean?
Marty: Well look at who you're facing. Necra is a fine looking woman, but she's not an easy mark. She has a stick up her arse. But her boyfriend is alright.
Shaun: Yeah, we drank with him a few times at the arenas.
Avery: Yeah he's not to bad. But ever since Jack got attacked she's been acing like a mad woman. I mean I would to if anything ever happened to Mike. But then again if I had a tag partner like Tommy John I wouldn't be too happy either.
Shaun and Marty look at each other and then back at Avery.
Shaun: Are you really willing to step into the ring with him?
Avery shivers and shakes her head.
Avery: I'm going to try and stay out of his hands. If he were a smell it would be that smell you can't explain from the leftovers in the back of the fridge.
Marty: I think you maybe right. He looks like one of those guys that missed a few to many hugs in his life.
Shaun: Or got to many.
The three of them laugh, as they sit at the bar that was against the wall. Shaun pours them each a glass of dark liquid and sets the bottle down once again.
Avery: I hate to say it but this match isn't going to be easy. I mean the two of them some how managed to win the first tag team match they were in, and Necra and Tommy John aren't what you call compatible.
Marty: No, and I'm sure if Necra had a chance she would off Tommy John.
Shaun: In more ways than one.
Marty: I don't think that she would ever let him touch her that way.
Avery smirks and downs the dark liquid in the glass.
Avery: That's one thing that Necra and I have in common.
They laugh again, as Avery pours another round.
Shaun: You've only been in a couple of matches since you came back, do you think you're going to be able to handle this?
Avery: Of course I am. I have Mike at my side. Just because the two of us haven't been in the ring a lot doesn't mean anything. We never stop training.
Marty: Is that what you call it?
Avery smacks him and he laughs as he downs the glass in his hand.
Avery: The way I see it, Mike and I have a bigger chance in this match then Necra and Tommy John. The two of us work together better, and know each other on an intimate level.
Shaun: That's a good thing. But you know how Necra is. She's not going to give up that easy, let alone let you and Mike walk away with the win.
Avery downs another glass, and gets to her feet. She heads for the door.
Avery: I know, but we'll do everything that we can to pull this win out of our asses.
Shaun: Where are you going?
Avery: To get some air.
Avery grabs her jacket and heads outside into the late afternoon. She leans on the railing looking out over the ranch grounds, and smiles.
Avery: Necra you are wrong about one thing, I'm not a former champion, I AM A CHAMPION! I hold the Siren's title in hand but I don't flaunt it. It's bad enough I have a target on my back, but I don't want to be reminded of it. Sure I'll defend it, but this match is a tag team match and nothing is on the line, only one's pride. I know that is something that is a big thing for you, and I know you will do everything that you can to stop Mike and myself but I'm not going to let that happen. Not that easy. You and Tommy don't have a connection. It's just a marriage of convenience as it were. Can you trust him? Just because you two won that one match doesn't mean you're going to be on the same page forever.
She smiles as she walks down the stairs and into the courtyard.
Avery: Tommy John I don't even know where to start with you. There is so many things wrong with what you said. I wouldn't let you touch me with a ten foot pole outside of the ring. My husband is more of a man that you will ever be in a million years. At least he knows there is more to life than trying to get into my pants. You need to get your head out of yours and look straight ahead for the simple fact that Mike and I are not going to stop until we have what we want in hand, and that is another win under us. You can try to stop us, but it's not going to be enough. You have two wins under you. Yippie! I have a hell of a lot more than that, and multiple championships under me. Until you have that much experience under you don't even compare yourself to my husband or myself. We know what its like in this business. The pain, the suffering, the long trips from home, away from family... But its all worth it knowing that we do what we do for the fans and for our family. I'll take great joy in beating the holy hell out of you and getting the win over you. See you soon and good luck... You're going to need it.
Avery walks along the grounds and heads toward another one of the buildings as the scene fades to black.
