Scene One: Post-Chaos
“This is the end of his journey. He tried to win but he couldn’t. He lost his Johnny Chaos match. He no longer has a chance in the King of Extreme tournament. He tried but is looks like he doesn’t want to continue. He enters the locker room and sits on the bench. He takes off his gloves and throws them in the locker. He looks up to the heavens and shakes his head in disappointment. He stands and walks around his locker room. Lonnie walks in to try and comfort him.”
[Lonnie Bartow] How are you doing, son?
[Eli the Kid] How do you think I’m doing? I lost in a match where I could’ve won, and now I hear my next match is against the undefeated AJ Styles. I don’t know how I’m going to beat him.
[Lonnie Bartow] Well, it is simple. You fight him like you fight all the others. And…
[Eli the Kid] And lose like usual. Let’s face it; I’m not in the same league as the others. AJ is being managed by Ric Flair. The former WWE Champion. I can never beat someone trained by him. I can try and try but in the end, I will fail.
[Lonnie Bartow] Don’t talk like that. You are my son, and you will win that match.
“Eli walks towards the door and opens it. He looks at his dad.”
[Eli the Kid] I want you to leave.
[Lonnie Bartow] I let you clear your head. Hopefully, you will go back to your senses by the time you leave this place.
“Lonnie leaves the room and Eli sits right back on the bench. He hears the door open, but he doesn’t question who it is at the door. He automatically assumes it is his father.”
[Eli the Kid] I told you to leave me alone.
“The man replies back to Eli.”
[Man] Well, I never got the memo.
“Eli looks up for the voice was not of his father. He looks at the door and he notices the man was his former mentor, White Tiger. He stands and walks over to him. The two shake each other’s hand.”
[Eli the Kid] Jeff, how have things been?
[White Tiger] They have been fine. I just watched you get beat by Johnny, and I was wondering how you were holding up.
[Eli the Kid] Well, I am doing amazing. I lost another match which makes my return two wins and two loses. I am about to face someone who is undefeated. You my problem with those people, I always help them get another win over me. I just don’t think my career is going right, right now.
[White Tiger] Kid, you gotta lighten up. Do you think I always had a great career?
[Eli the Kid] Well, you are a multiple time heavyweight champion.
[White Tiger] Looks like I shouldn’t have asked that question. It is ok though, you may be able to get to where I am someday.
“Eli looks at him and just laughs. Tiger looks at him with a little anger in his eyes.”
[Eli the Kid] You can’t be serious. I have loses to my name than wins. I don’t even have a chance to win to win the X-Core Championship. Trust me, I have tried. I just can’t get a break.
[White Tiger] Well, at least you are getting shots at the titles. Back in the beginning, you would need to earn every shot at any title.
[Eli the Kid] I just want a shot at a major title.
“Tiger just shakes his head.”
[White Tiger] You’re not at that standard yet. Once you are, then maybe you will get that chance.
[Eli the Kid] Wow, if this is supposed to be a pep talk then it is terrible.
[White Tiger] It is supposed to be an open your eyes moment.
[Eli the Kid] They are.
[White Tiger] If they were, then you would know that you will an opportunity when you earn it. Or is Jensen thinks you are worthy of a title match. You just can’t give up easily.
[Eli the Kid] It is what I’m good at though.
[White Tiger] No, you are good at being to one to win when no one expects it. That is what you are going to do next week.
[Eli the Kid] That is what I am going to do against AJ Styles. The undefeated International Champion. That is funny, Jeff. You got any other jokes.
[White Tiger] That’s your problem. You have lost the spirit that I believed in when you first started in EWE. Ever since then, the spirit has been slowly disappearing. Why have you let that happen?
[Eli the Kid] Well, after losing in numerous matches you get to start losing a little something of yourself. You start to see the truth about what life is like.
[White Tiger] We have got to get your spirit back. I am going to help you get it back.
[Eli the Kid] You’re telling me that you are going to help me bring back my lost spirit.
[White Tiger] That’s right. You get to go through the jungle.
“Eli looks at him with worry on his face.”
[Eli the Kid] You’re talking about a figurative jungle, right?
[White Tiger] No. If I wanted that, then I would’ve knocked you out with chloroform.
[Eli the Kid] Oh, well aren’t I lucky.
[White Tiger] You are lucky. I have only had to do it twice.
[Eli the Kid] You are scaring me Jeff.
[White Tiger] That’s the point. Now, I will see you tomorrow.
“Tiger exits the room. Eli just smiles at him and is relieved his pain is gone. He continues changing. He finishes and exits his room. He walks out the back door at the end of the arena. He sees his dad and enters the car. Lonnie follows suit.”
[Lonnie Bartow] I heard you were talking to White Tiger.
[Eli the Kid] Yeah, he just needed him to get some sense into me.
“Lonnie starts the car and drives away.”
Scene Two: White Tiger’s Training
“Eli enters the training room of White Tiger. He doesn’t see him anywhere. He feels someone grab his arm. The person throws Eli down. Eli quickly jumps up to defend himself. He hears a voice.”
[White Tiger] Rule one: always keep your guard.
[Eli the Kid] We’re starting training now.
[White Tiger] Yes, when I train people they must always be prepared.
[Eli the Kid] You have got to be kidding me.
[White Tiger] Nope, now get ready.
“Eli runs at White Tiger. Tiger successfully moves out of the way, grabs his arm, and throws Eli down.”
[White Tiger] You fight with you anger. It makes you chaotic. You have to try and channel it. You may be able to get an opponent off his feet when you do that. Now, again.
“Eli stands and runs at Tiger. He jumps over him and trips him to the ground. Eli grabs Tiger when he is down and make sure he stays down. White Tiger taps Eli on the shoulder. Eli lets go and the both of them stand up. Tiger smiles.”
[White Tiger] That was better. Now, let’s try to get your strength up. Try to pick me up.
[Eli the Kid] Are you serious?
[White Tiger] Yes.
[Eli the Kid] My entire arsenal is based on speed though. I can’t change that.
[White Tiger] It brings out variety.
[Eli the Kid] Ok.
“Eli grabs White Tiger and tries to pick him up. He fails epically though.”
[White Tiger] Well, we take that out of the plan. You need to change your game plan. You always go speed first. Try to be technical. Put the person in an ankle lock or some submission move.
[Eli the Kid] It is hard for me to do that. They always kick out of it quickly.
“Eli looks at his watch.”
[Eli the Kid] Look, I gotta go. Maybe some other time we can continue.
[White Tiger] Alright, till next time.
“Eli leaves the training room towards his car. White Tiger stands looking on.”
[White Tiger] He needs more work, but he can achieve greatness.
“White Tiger walks away.”
Scene Three: The Interview
“Eli sits down with Kenny Greenwood to be interviewed. He gets set up and Kenny begins the interview.”
[Kenny Greenwood] Now Eli, you lost to Johnny Chaos on Chaos. How have you been taking it?
[Eli the Kid] I have been taking it ok, but I still wish that I would’ve won.
[Kenny Greenwood] Well, that has past. Now you are going up against AJ Styles. What are your thoughts about him?
[Eli the Kid] I think he is arrogant. He shouldn’t think that he is above people because he is International Champion and undefeated.
[Kenny Greenwood] He and Ric Flair would disagree with you. He has said that he will speak the truth when he faces you in the match. What do you think he means by that?
[Eli the Kid] I think he means that he is going to show that he is a tremendous wrestler. I don’t understand he would want to do that while wrestling me. I am not a former champion.
[Kenny Greenwood] Final question, what do you hope will happen to in the match?
[Eli the Kid] I hope that I will win and beat his undefeated streak.
[Kenny Greenwood] Thank for this opportunity Eli.
[Eli the Kid] You’re welcome Kenny.
“Kenny stands up and leaves with Eli still sitting contemplating on what he said.”
