Act 1: This Thin' of Ours
"Costa Nostra means This Thin' of Ours. This is what I live by. We never let anyone in that isn't meant to be in the inner circle. If you're not Italian you are not made. "The Family" will ALWAYS come first. It doesn't matter if you are on vacation, you are still on the job and part of the family. Once you are in there is no way out... Well there is one... But it's never the easy way."
The scene opens on the beautiful Jersey Shore. The night had come on fast and the moon had started to rise high over the city. The camera moves over the city and comes to a stop on an all to familiar part of the city. It was a strip club names 7th Heaven. The parking lot was full of cars, as the sound of a bass beat could be heard coming from inside the building. The camera moves to the interior of the club where the music is loud and lights flash around the main stage as a young blond danced around the stage before flipping upside down on the pole in the middle of the stage as the men that sat around it cheered before tossing bills onto the stage. The camera moves past the bar and to an upper floor. The room itself was done in a light wood color along the walls, and the floor was done in what appeared to be light marble. The sound of voices could be heard coming from somewhere out of view but as the camera pans around, we see Joanne, Uh Oh, Reno, Rude and Scarpaci sitting at a table with a pile of money sitting between them. They were at a stand still in a game of poker. They all sit staring at the other, waiting for someone to start it off.
Joanne: Alright boys... This is it. The last hand takes the pot!
Reno goes first laying down a full house with a pair of aces.
Joanne: Not bad...
Rude sets down a full house.
Rude: Beat that.
Scarpaci sets down four of a kind and smiles leaning back in his seat.
Scapai: I can taste victory already.
Joanne: Not so fast. Uh Oh lets see them...
Uh Oh looks up from his cards and lays them out. A straight flush. He lets out a deep breath as Joanne shakes her head.
Joanne: I think you guys have me beat... Maybe...
Joanne sets down a royal flush of spades as she laughs grabbing the pile of cash that sat in front of her.
Rude: Son of a bitch!
Reno: How?
Joanne: Thank you gentlemen... It's been a pleasure doin' business with you.
Uh Oh: I couldn't see your tell. You managed to hide it.
Joanne: Damn right I did. I wasn't goin' to go down that easy.
Rude: What about your match?
Reno: Yeah...
Joanne looks down at the table and sighs shrugging slightly.
Joanne: What's there to worry about? I mean look at who I'm facin'... Anna... What has she done lately? I'm the BAMF Champion! She's held one title... ONE! I mean I've been champion a few times over and she thinks I'm goin' to run from her or back down from this match? This is MY match!
Scarpaci: Do you want us at ringside just in case Apocalypse comes out to her rescue?
Uh Oh: Do I get a gun then?
Joanne: Oh sweety... You know you can't be trusted. Remember the last time you had a gun?
Uh Oh nods.
Uh Oh: I shot Scarpaci in the ass.
Scarpaci: That hurt man! I still have the hole...
They burst into laughter as Scarpaci gets to his feet and storms out of the room.
Joanne: It's still funny.
Uh Oh: There's still nothing from Anna. Maybe she's scared of you.
Joanne laughs.
Joanne: Of course she is. I mean I'm the BAMF Champion and I have taken out everyone that has stood against me. I managed to get to the end with Emily at Genocide. She should be afraid. But I have a feelin' she's not goin' to run her mouth. She'll wait and then let her actions do the talkin' in the ring.
Rude: I wouldn't underestimate her.
Joanne: I don't plan on it. I mean she managed to get A title. That must mean somethin' right?
Reno: She's good but they like to play the numbers game.
Joanne nods as she gets to her feet.
Joanne: Yeah they do. But so do I. It's just my guys are a bit better. I still have better odds.
She smiles as she grabs her jacket off of the back of the chair, and heads to the door.
Uh Oh: Are you alright?
Joanne: Yeah. I'm fine. I just need to get a little bit of air.
Uh Oh: Do you want me to come with you?
Joanne: Nah I'm good. I'll be back in a few minutes.
Uh Oh kisses her on the cheek before she walks out closing the door behind her. Her high heeled shoes clicked on the cement steps as she headed down to the main floor.
Joanne: Well, well, well... I get to face off against one of the weakest links in Apocalypse. I have to admit that I wasn't impressed with where you ended up in Genocide. I wasn't really surprised. I mean you haven't had much luck ever since you came back to NCW have you? I've been doin' pretty good or myself and I plan on stayin' at the top and showin' you why I am better than you in ever sense of the word. But I'm not goin' to underestimate you. That would be stupid of me. I know that you will though. I've held more titles here than you will ever see Anna! You lost a chance at gettin' your hands on the tag titles, the siren's title again, and lets see... The Pinnacle! Do you see why I am not worried about our match? You're nothin' to me!
She reaches the bottom of the staircase, as the sound of the music is heard pumping through the club. She looks out onto the main club and smirks as she heads outside.
Joanne: Anna if I was worried about this match I would have been in trainin' since Genocide but I've only trained for a few days and I'm still ready for anythin' that you can throw at me. If you think you have what it takes to defeat me then try to stop me in this match and prove to me that you are worth my time. We are the Mafioso and we get paid to kick your ass. See you soon and good luck, you're goin' to need it.
Joanne laughs as she starts to walk across the parking lot and soon rounds a corner as the scene fades to black.
